Welcome to Jolt Studios!
First, I'd like to thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my website. My name is Jen Olp and my studio name is Jolt Studios.
There's usually curiosity on who a person is so I hope you enjoy my short bio. SHORT BIO My Parents had me riding horses before I could crawl starting my lifelong passion. This has led me through some amazing ups and downs. I started collecting models at age 7. At the age of 10, I purchased my first pony, a POA, which I outgrew a couple years later. At age 12, I purchased my first horse, a Pinto who was in foal. During these years my Parents had decided to raise, breed and show Arabian horses, which I rode all the time, every chance I could get. My collection of model horses continued to build along with my passion for horses. I saved my allowance and earnings to buy one model horse every week to every other week. As an adult, moving out on my own put a hiatus on my model horse collection and having a horse of my own. The hard decision in the selling of my collection of 500+ model horses got me into the buying and selling of models for a bit of extra cash for living expenses. I enjoyed the interaction with the collectors and this is where the spark of artistic ideas came to mind, although I didn’t think I’d be a good enough artist at that time. It wasn’t until over 20 years later that I actually started. I worked in the animal industry starting at Pet Stores, going on to Animal Control, hand raising Parrots, working on ranches, managed a horse boarding facility, worked with Veterinarians, judged horse shows, trained horses, gave horseback riding lessons, foal watch, and pretty much anything that had to do with animals, especially horses …. I did it. I was very honored to be around some very well-known horses and people in the industry, which fueled my passion even that much more. My thirst for knowledge of horses was a bottomless pit and still continues to this day. I’m currently in a place in my life where I’m able to share my passion of horses through my artwork. When I first began this journey, I had no idea I would be making a living as an artist. If it were not for each and every one of you, I would not be where I’m at today and for that, I’m forever grateful and thankful. I truly feel blessed to be living my dream. Jen Olp Jolt Studios ON A SIDE NOTE: In the shadows of the studio is the love of my life, my husband, Tom Olp. He is a huge support in what I do, always by my side in whatever direction I go. He took interest in casting for the hobby and hasn't looked back since! His talent in this area absolutely amazes me! Our good friend, Richard, helps us out 4 days a week. Richard cleans up all the casts and does an amazing job! Best thing is, we all 3 work very well together <3 |
